The Adults’ Programme is designed to accommodate all students, from those who have never had formal ballet training, to those who have studied ballet in the past and wish to resume training.
We provide non-syllabus open classes in the Vaganova & RAD methods. Anybody can join the open classes and you may drop in at any time. We believe that it’s never too late to start dancing and we welcome all ages, shapes and sizes! The dress code for adult classes is quite flexible: you can dance in full ballet attire or sweats and a t-shirt – whatever is most comfortable for you. If you don’t have ballet shoes, please bring socks to use in class. Hair should be up and off the face.
No previous knowledge is assumed for the Absolute Beginners Class. It is designed for adults who have not done ballet before and would like to give it a try.
The Beginner Class is very basic. Simple exercises are taught at a slow pace and
new movements will be introduced gradually.
This level is for those who have taken at least 2 years of recent ballet training. This class is ideal for the mature adult student who has basic experience in ballet or is returning to ballet after an extended break.
This is for dancers with a minimum of 4–5 years’ experience. These classes have a faster pace and the combinations are longer and more complicated than in Level 1, providing a more professional, comprehensive awareness of the art form.
This course is geared towards experienced dancers who have had at least 6 years of ballet training, and assumes a comprehensive knowledge of ballet. Exercises and combinations are longer, faster and more complex.
This class is perfect for those who have an extensive knowledge of ballet technique and want a class that is challenging and musical. Class is taught at a professional level and uses the full range of classical ballet techniques.
Only experienced students who have completed our Pointe Perfect course and passed assessment may attend. A minimum attendance of two classes a week is required.
This class is designed to improve flexibility in a safe and gentle way that looks at helping you understand how to work with your body, realise why it tightens up and find ways to conquer this.
